Public bike sharing arrives in the Midwest on June 10 when Nice Ride Minnesota begins service in Minneapolis. Nice Ride is a non-profit, public bike sharing system that will launch with 700 bikes at 65 locations. The goal of bike share is to make it easy for anyone to grab a bike where they get off the bus or train, walk out of their office or go to class. This program is different than previous bike share programs in the Twin Cities; new technology allows subscribers to get daily, monthly or annual accounts tied to a credit card at secure, self-service kiosks.
