I was an overweight young adult. When I went in for my yearly exam, I was told that my triglyceride levels were extremely high for someone my age. It was then that I realized I needed to do something to live a better, longer life.
I traded my junk food for healthier ones. I started parking farther away, taking stairs, and exercising. Since I’ve started changing my habits, I feel less exhausted at the end of the day.
America’s children and young adults under 21 are more obese than in any other country. I think it’s important to spread the message that healthy habits equal a healthier, happier life. Little changes such as eating better and being more active will certainly do more than doing nothing.
