Our mother, Nancy, who is 55, has had 2 knee replacements and rheumatoid arthritis, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This motivated her to get up and groove to control her weight. She started with portion control and regular exercise. She met with a diabetic educator to learn what more she could do. Nancy works out a minimum of 3 times a week at the gym or doing water aerobics and continues to watch her portions and to eat a more healthy and balanced diet. She has lost approximately 115 lbs in the last year and a half simply through diet and exercise. She is self-motivated to keep the weight off and is no longer in need of any diabetic medication. As her daughters, we are extremely proud of the accomplishment. Nancy is a role model for anyone wanting to lose weight and keep it off.
