It was almost a year and a half ago that I was home, watching The Biggest Loser on TV, stuffing my face with snacks. In 2007, I had hernia surgery and lost my job, and I spent a lot of time on my couch feeling depressed. Six months later, I had gained more than 40 pounds and weighed 203, which is a lot for my height of 5’3”.

I decided I needed to do something about it. I had just started a job where I was required to do a lot of walking and lifting. I started drinking a lot more water and eating six small meals a day. I cut out all fast food and soda and incorporated more fresh fruits and vegetables. I lost about 50 pounds and I went from a size 17/18 to a 7/8. I am still working out and trying to tone up, but I feel so healthy and alive. I feel like I finally got my life back. If I can do it - anyone can.
