I was chubby growing up. I was 15 and weighed a more than 225 pounds. I was only 5’4” tall with a 40-inch waist.

I had tried to lose weight, but it never worked. I finally decided to do something about it when I was 15. I cut back on how much I was eating and exercised on a regular basis. It was tough the first few months, but once the pounds started to come off it made me feel a lot better about myself. I am now 34 years old, at 125 pounds and 5’7” tall. I have had a health club membership at Lifetime Fitness since 1993 and I try to work out there when I can. I’m not one of those people who work out every day, but about 12 to 15 times a month. I have a lot more energy now then I did when I was heavier.  It took a lot of dedication, will power, and never giving into temptation to get to where I am now.

I’m not sure if I would even be around today if I didn’t do anything about my weight when I was younger. I am grateful for being able to keep the pounds off after 18 years. I’ve seen many people go on fad diets and they do lose the weight, but they always gain it all back, plus more. I am just so glad that I took that first step to do something about my weight issue. I hope this story will inspire other people to take the first step to lose weight and improve their overall health. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
