Day 12

Day 12 Re-Cap

Day 12 started out with a good walk. No, a great walk. 98 minutes, 11,000+ steps already in. Had a banana 1/2 way through my walk.  Ate a big bowl of oatmeal (1 cup dry) with a 1/4 cup of raisins for breakfast.

I was not hungry for lunch, so I had an Apple and an Orange. Honest, i was still very content from breakfast. so i ate light. The change in my eating habits seems to surprise me each day. My cravings for carbs have dropped off, almost non existent.

My first DO of the day was shadow boxing. I got a good workout and was able to talk almost through the whole thing. And i got my breath back faster! so cool to feel and see this happening.

So, i get a call that MSNBC’s Tamron Hall wants to SKYPE with me live @ 1:20pm Today! Wow, live on national TV and getting a chance to talk about what i am doing, pretty cool. And to top it off, that happened 10 minutes after my 1pm DO of jumping rope! I took a quick break caught my breath and went on with out being winded. I know theses changes are real. man that feels good…

Bowling with my friends Jason, Dave, Chris & Al @ Brunswick Zone XL was great. It is just fun to hang with your buds. Now they were a bit shocked when i said No Beer and Pizza. but they went along with what i was going for. Now i know that bowling allies are not known for the healthiest of foods. Lots of deep fried stuff and pizzas. Everything in moderation, but, and this was not set up, I asked the kitchen if they could grill some chicken breast and steam some veggies. I told them i was trying to eat healthy. They were great about it and even suggested some black beans they could make as well. Sal, the cook or should i say chef, you rock! So there you go, TIP of the day. If you are at a restaurant, don’t be afraid to ask for something stripped down, not saying they can always do it, but it never hurts to ask!

And for the record, I bowled a 157 &  161, not bad for a guy, not on a league. Wait till you see the video and my buddy Chris’ shoes…

As this day comes to a close, i still have some energy left and i can truly say i am ready for day 13.
