Day 21
I had the pleasure of being invited to celebrate Winnies’ 93 Birthday today.
Around forty people gathered in the empty food court after our morning walk. Winnie is one of the Mall Star walkers. Winnie in known for making everyone a card for there Birthdays… so sweet. You should have seen the stack of birthday cards she received. I had a little piece of cake.
As looked around at the large group laughing and sharing stories, I was reminded that walking is more than just healthy, its also about friends.
Happy 93 Birthday Winnie.
I have been using the SPRI bands to help me stretch each morning. There are so many uses for these. If you are jet starting out, I recommend getting a set. They do not take up a lot of room and are easy to use.
I met Christian from Four Gates (http://www.fourgatesmpls.com) for my first session of Kettlebells. This is a great way to move your body. When we were swinging the kettle bells around i could feel new muscles. It takes a bit getting used to, but pretty quickly i found myself in the same rhythm as Christian. Of course he was using a much heavier kettle bell. The video crew was here, so please check back to see it.
Tonight was great! I met Brenda Langton, chef at Spoonriver restaurant. Along with Assistant Sarah Jean. We met at All Inc. in St Paul. All Inc. is the company that put the Kitchen in my glass apartment.
A must see…
Tonight was different, I was an observer. I watched first hand as Brenda prepared a splendid vegetarian meal loaded with protein. Chick peas, Fresh Greens, squash, and… I am not going to do it justice. Thank goodness the Video crew was there. Video will be posted soon.
Brenda, Thank you for sharing your talents and secrets. I enjoyed all the tastes that were new to my tongue! And I will be calling you for your “Fried rice breakfast” recipe.
I was so full and it was so healthy… wow, just wow. Don’t worry we will post all the recipes soon, I promise!
And with that, my day 21 comes to close, i need to wake up early and join the “Silver Sneakers” for a morning walk @ 7:00 to 7:45. They are another group of walkers that get together and enjoy the DO of walking!
