Woke up a little excited today. Goldy’s 5K run/walk was this morning. I was met by my wife Julie And about 10 other people who joined me on my morning quest!
It was damp and colder than expected. I am not kidding, people were shivering.
As we started the race, we let the runners head out first, i even saw a guy in his bare feet. Goldy Gopher gave me some fist pumps and a couple of high fives!.
I finished the 5K in around 45 minutes. Not bad for my first 5K.
It felt so good to do a race with friends. Having Julie by my side was wonderful and for the record, she would have finished 5 minutes ahead of me… thanks for walking “with” me sweetheart. She is such a good supporter. I am so lucky.
Got back and had a late breakfast. Eggbeaters with some diced peppers. Not super hungry I had 2 bananas and an apple at the race. I kinda of chuckle every time I use the word “race” in a sentence and I am referring to something I did!
I did not have an 11am DO today because of the race, but decided to do the Octane elliptical on my own. It felt good to just move.
My Do’s were pretty easy today. Even did a little ballet today. Baryshnikov here i come!
I missed Joe Mauer today, he was at the Nike store launching a new Shoe, pretty cool design. Might have to get me a pair. Would have been great to have Joe drop my my place… hehe.
Tomorrow is sunday and the the last time i will go grocery shopping. I can already tell I will shop more frequently when I leave the box. I like having the fresh fruit around.
I took Julie out to a sit down dinner for the first time in 3 weeks. I am not counting the Chipotle lunch on day 3 as taking her out to dinner. Plus we ate that in the glass box., hehe
We went to Tucci Benucch. It was wonderful. I showed her my new ordering skills. How to order “off” the menu. We had my multi-grain pasta prepared to our liking. They are so helpful and accommodating. Great italian food!
As this last weeks starts and my days of living in the box grow shorter, I am keenly aware of the changes taking place in my body. Even in just a short period of time, 23 days, I can tell that I have lost weight. i will admit i am a bit curious how much.
But I can honestly say, more important than weight loss, Are the day to day changes i am making in my eating and the new lifestyle choices i am making.
I am ready for day 24!
